Minister at St. Louis Baptist church charged with molestation

A minister at a Baptist church in St. Louis has been charged with child molestation.

The Rev. Jesse Claybon, 47, faces four counts of fourth-degree child molestation involving a victim under age 17.

Police say Claybon touched the victim over her clothing and had her rub his penis over his clothing. The crime took place between Aug. 1 and Sept. 29.

Claybon is a minister at New Age Missionary Baptist Church, at 2601 Prairie Avenue. Claybon lives in the 4800 block of Woodstock Avenue in St. Louis. It wasn’t immediately clear where the alleged crimes took place, but county police are the investigating agency.

He was ordered held with bail set at $75,000.

Authorities say they know of no other victims, but asked anyone with concerns about Claybon’s conduct to call investigators at 636-529-8210.
