A STL man was charged yesterday with carjacking a woman on Sunday.  The woman stopped her car to help a cat in her Maryland Heights neighborhood and the reward for her kindness was getting her car ripped off.

Mikal Muhammad, 18, of the 5900 block of Ridge Avenue, was charged with robbery and armed criminal action.

A woman stopped her 2017 Lexus about 7:30 p.m. Sunday near Cedar Dale Court and Weshire Place to help a cat in her neighborhood when Muhammad creeped up behind her with a gun and took her car. She was not injured.

Police arrested Muhammad later that night while he was cruising like a King in the Lexus; police also found a gun in the vehicle did not belong to the woman. Police said that he admitted to the carjacking.

Bail for Muhammad was set at $50,000 cash-only.
