Please Don’t Drink and Drive and Hit a STL Police Car

During the Holiday season, many will have a glass or two or three or even four.  But when that happens make sure you are not going to be behind the wheel.  There is this thing, it is new, they call it a taxi or even an Uber.  Use it or else you can be like John Simpson, 53 who lives in STL.  He had a few too many, got in his car and rear-ended a St. Louis County Police car and injured the officer in the collision.  Not a smooth move.

The crash happened near the 9000 block of Gravois in the Affton Southwest precinct when the officer’s was hit by the new and official “Eggnog King of STL”. Charging documents say Simpson’s speech was slurred and he had watery, glassy eyes. His blood-alcohol level was 0.174, more than twice the legal limit.

The officer suffered a concussion. Simpson is charged with driving while intoxicated in the Friday morning incident. He is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
