Tony Williams Jr. was charged Friday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the Jan 18. shooting death of Rashauwn Haley, 26.
Haley was found in the driver’s seat of a Hyundai Sante Fe that crashed into an empty parked car about 1:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Franklin Avenue.
Haley was shot numerous times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Video surveillance showed Williams approaching and leaving the block, where his phone and some of his clothing were found, according to charging documents.
Williams later admitted to shooting Haley “during a drug transaction in which he believed he was cheated,” charges say. I can only imagine how many people he has “cheated” in his life.
Williams, of the 1400 block of Linton Avenue, was in custody Friday. Judge Barbara Peebles set his bail at $1 million.
