A man from the Glasgow Village area has been charged with felony child abuse after authorities say he “slammed and hit” the head of his girlfriend’s 10-month-old daughter, injuring her.
Richard J. Bonnard, 21, of the 10400 block of Renfrew Drive, abused the baby Monday at a home in the block of Leisure Drive which is near Florissant.
The mother left her daughter with Bonnard and went to bed. Bonnard returned to bed later and told his girlfriend that the child wasn’t breathing right, officials said. The couple took the baby to a fire station, and they called the police.
The little girl’s mother is Bonnards girlfriend. The girl was in critical but stable condition. Bail for Bonnard was set at $500,000 cash-only.
