A rape victim survived after being shot eight times by her attacker, police told us.
The 31-year-old woman is an acquaintance of the man who raped her and was seriously injured after being shot at about 4 a.m. Wednesday in the 2400 block of Silkwood Drive.
Hughes was having sex with the woman yesterday morning, and she told him to stop. He pinned her down and refused to stop. He then shot her eight times and ran away like the scumbag that he is, throwing away the gun.
After his arrest, Hughes admitted to police that the woman had been pushing on his chest to get him to stop.
Prosecutors charged the piece of shit Shawn Hughes with rape or attempted rape, first-degree assault, armed criminal action and other felonies. He is being held in the St. Louis County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
Hughes, 36, who lives at the home on Silkwood, is a convicted felon who is on parole.
