Police and federales found 9 kilograms of cocaine hidden in the muffler of a pickup truck on their way to the Arch.

Emilia Morales-Acosta, 34, is now facing a charge in U.S. District Court in St. Louis of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

After being alerted March 26, the Gateway Smuggling Task Force followed a woman leaving a hotel along Interstate 44 and pulled her over for a traffic violation.

Both Morales-Acosta and her passenger said they were heading for the Arch. But Morales-Acosta appeared nervous and had also once been caught with 25 pounds of weed, which was not all personal.  They then brought in drug-sniffing dog which also alerted on the vehicle.

Agents took the truck to the Fenton city garage, where they discovered nine aluminum-wrapped bundles that contained roughly 9 kilos of coke.  That’s a lot of “Nose Candy.”

Charges against Morales-Acosta were filed the next day.
